Bloodmobile
A Success
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Rappahannock County Extension Homemakers Club, we would like to thank the community for its outstanding support of our Bloodmobile on Monday, Nov. 1.
Thank you to the Washington Fire and Rescue Squad for allowing us to use their building in which to sponsor the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
A special thanks goes out to all 43 persons who took the time and made the effort on a blustery November day to see if they were eligible to donate blood. Many of them may have been influenced by the memory of the wonderful sandwiches and pound cake provided by Alice Pullen in the canteen after the blood donation!
Thanks also to the three “firsttime donors” who can now attest to the fact that donating blood is a safe, virtually painless and gratifying way of giving a gift of life.
We, and the Red Corss, appreciate the community support and the individual’s giving of themselves. We look forward to seeing all of you at our next Bloodmobile in May 1994!
