the district, beat the varsity Saturday 71-42. Coach Leake said, “We had a great first quarter, but we got into some foul trouble in the second quarter. We were down only five points at the half. Even though we lost, our effort was much stronger than the last game.”
Jason Settle scored the most points with 15.
Coach Leake said, “I think both teams have re-established their focus and I expect them to do really well in the final two weeks of basketball season.”
The Panthers will play at Manassas Park this Wednesday, at home against Manassas Park this Friday, and at George Mason next Tuesday. The last home game will be against Clarke Friday, Feb. 18, which is also parents’ night.
The Junior Panthers, led by Coach Renee Leake, won their first . game of the season, which was also their last game of the season. They beat Stonewall Jackson Monday 4035.
Coach Leake said, “Everybody played and contributed to the win. Jon Heddleston and R.J. White did a good job on defense. I really enjoyed working with the team and I think they learned a lot and had fun this season.”
Jason Baldwin and Mike Letsen were the leading scorers with four points each. Mike Letsen also had 13 rebounds.
