4-H International
Exchange Program

The 4-H program offers several international exchange programs. The LABO program is an exchange with student in Japan. Youth are age 12-15. Japanese student who visit the United States are enrolled in a language laboratory and are the same age. Host families are needed for these exchange students usually during July and August. It is a wonderful opportunity to gain an insight into another culture and to share ours.
Applications for the exchange trip with deposit are due in the state office by Feb. 15. Host families applications are due by April 1. Virginia is hosting 35 delegates.
The International 4-H Youth Exchange (IFYE) Host Family applications are due in the state 4-H office by April 15. Families usually host four to six weeks.
