Leadership skills are developed through training and practice. Leadership skills are useful throughout life. Teens who enjoy working with younger children have some unique opportunities as teen leaders at a Variety of 4-H camps. Tliese include Day Camp, Junior 4-H Camp, iuid Cloverbud camps. Teens also serve in leadership roles in clubs, at activities and events, and at workshops,'

An excellent leader training opportunity is available for teens on Friday evening, March 4 and Saturday, March 5. These 16 hours of training will be held at Culpeper Holiday Inn and will involve teens from more than a dozen counties that camp at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal The workshops will be led by teen and adult volunteers, Extension staff, and Center staff.

Teens age 14 as of Jan. 1, 1994, who are in the 9th grade or higher are invited to take part in the training and apply for a position at the various camps.

Former teen leaders have found summer jobs, part time jobs and strong college and scholarship recommendations as a result of their volunteer teen leader performance's.
