Janine Adelle Steen has completed her “Leaders at Work in Food Service” project at Piedmont Tech. She is applying for national recognition as an “Outstanding Leader.”
Janine is a senior at RCHS and a third-year Food Service student at Piedmont.
She is the reporter for the Piedmont Chapter of the Future Homemakers of America/Home Economics Related Occupations (FHA/HERO).
Janine is the foster daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Dye of Amiss ville.
“Outstanding Leaders” have the opportunity to be chosen for one of two scholarships valued at $4,000 and $24,000.
“Leaders at Work in Food Service” is a program designed to develop leadership skills by combining on-the-job experience with activities related to four key leadership areas; communications, interpersonal skills, management and entrepreneurship.
The program promotes goal setting, decision making and responsibility, develops technical and leadership skills, provides recognition and scholarships and encourager interaction with individuals and groups at school and in the community, her teacher Letitia K. Franklin said.
