One idea he has is to build some low to moderate income housing on the periphery of the town. Possibly the town boundaries would have to be extended in order to do this, he said. The water system being put in could supply water to ten times as many people as the current population, so it could well handle the population increase.

Mr. Fisher said, “There are failing septic systems up and down Main Street. The lack of a sewage system is the main detriment to growth”.

He sees a sewer system as the town’s next major need and says it would be extremely difficult to pay for such a system without a larger population to share the cost. He wondered about the possibility of the county and town going together
