Mr. O’Connell continued, “I spoke with Mr. Luke yesterday and he assured me there was no gray area as long as I was not in the position of receiving funding or gifts from the church. I do think that I am capable of making a reasonable decision on the issue before us. I understand the vestry of the church had several meetings and they voted seven to one that they wanted the fountain.”
Mrs. Kevis said, “I think it needs to be addressed because of its size. I think it is a very nice fountain. ”
Mr. Matthews continued, “I am not sure it is within the ARB’s purview to be involved in everything of visual significance.”
Mr. O’Connell spoke next, “I think we have made an issue of it. It has already been given more discussion than any other item that has come before us. If it was obviously detrimental, it would not have gone this far.”
