I residents hardly constitutes a disgraceful act or mud slinging as suggested by your Editoral. The “anonymous copies” were accurate and true.

The distribution of anonymous copies of the “Tax Lien” has been blamed on my wife and me. This is absolutely a “disgraceful mud-slinging lie.” I have always been open and straight forward on the issues of local government. An existing ‘Tax Lien” of over $61,000 for the Tax period that ended 3-31-93 on a candidate for public office is a legitimate issue in any election. This is over ten years ago.

When a copy of the “Tax Lien” was shown to me I went to the clerk’s office and openly asked if there was any evidence that the ‘Tax Lien” had been released. The answer was no. I also found out the kind of tax that was delinquent.

Yes, I have discussed the ‘Tax Lien” with a number of people. My remarks have been accurate and truthful.

This is a bona fide election issue for Town Treasurer and the people have a right to know. This issue and other reasons made me decide to vote for Tom Zumwalt for Treasurer of Washington.
