Last year Amissville Volunteer Fire Department responded to 446 calls, 61 percent of them in Culpeper County. Amissville Volunteer Fire T)epartment will cooperate with Little Fork Volunteer Fire Department in serving northern Culpeper County residents, if permitted to do so. Amissville currently has about 15 . Culpeper County residents actively responding to calls. The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department is currently in its 42nd year. t Ruritan members Mr. Frank McWhirt praised J.B. Carter and one of the Scott girls (Sheila or Sharton) for saving his life recently following a heart attack. He said measures taken by the rescue personnel (in the Advanced Life Support Ambulance) saved his life. When they got to the hospital his heart stopped and he had to be “jump-started” (using cardio-varsion). His doctor told him a 15-min_ute delay in getting him to the hospital would probably have meant death.
