agreement and his sentencing. Mr. Butler has been arrested twice since the plea agreement was entered into on Dec. 2, 1993. The original felony charge is reinstated, and the case has been continued to May 5.
Theodore Roosevelt Bailey, Jr., 39, of Alexandria, pleaded guilty to grand larceny, though still maintained his innocence. Mr. Bailey was charged with stealing personal property belonging to James Kelly of Sperryville in May, 1993.
Mr. Bailey asked the court to impose sentence on this date instead of setting another date for the usual pre-sentence investigation report required before sentencing. He is presently incarcerated for another crime and is doing paralegal studies in prison.
Judge Robertson said, “The imposition of sentence in a criminal case is one of the most demanding things I do. I feel I must review what I can for anyone before the court for sentencing. I think it would be unfair for the court to blindly sentence. You deserve the finest consideration I can give you. I direct a PSI report be prepared.
Mr. Bailey will return to court on June 16 for delivery of a PSI report and sentencing.
