In another water system matter, Mayor Morehouse said, “I am asking everybody for the next 10 days to restrict their water use.” He said Rappawan is in the process of replacing the old line from the well lot to the town resevoir. While that is going on water is being supplied fr-om a temporary tank with much less capacity than the resevoir.
Mayor Morehouse said he is asking people to conserve water from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. From 6-10 a.m. and from 5-10 p.m. town residents can have full use of their water. "We are asking people not to water their lawns during these times,” he said. “If possible we would like them to switch their dishwashing, clothes washing and bathing to periods of full use.”
Mayor Morehouse said he would like to thank the Sheriff’s Department for their assistance with many telephone calls Monday night. Town residents may call Louise van Dort at 675-3188 about water problems when Treasurer Brad Fisher is not home, he said.
