She was largely responsible for organizing the renovation of the Town Hall, thereby preserving an important landmark in this town and giving us all a new place to gathejfor meetings and community evented
Ms. van Dort organized the effort to re-configure the comer 'of Main Street and Middle Street, reclaiming land for the church parking lot, adding a necessary stop sign, and slowing down traffic in the center of town. This has contributed to the safety of all of us.
Behind the scenes, Louise has been there to make sure that an elderly resident’s driveway is plowed after a snowstorm, a job is found for someone down on their luck, oa homeowner’s street light bulb is replaced. She knows the right persjon to call in every situation, and she always gets the job done quickly anfl efficiently. . * •
She has attended every meeting of the Town Council and Planning Commission, as well as many meetings of the ARB. She has demortstrated her dedication and integrity in all her activites, and has contributed her formidable organizational skills and follow through to every project she has been involved with, including her volunteer position as town administrative assistant. • v
There is not enough space avdiiable to list the community service organizations that Ms. van Dort i $3 involved in. Suffice it to say that there are many groups in this county who depend on her willingness to be involved, and who have reason [to thank her for her service to them. •'
For all these reasons, I heartily endorse the candidacy of Louise vfcn Dort for Treasurer of the Town -of Washington. I urge all of you who have witnessed her commitment to volunteer service to vote for her oji May 3.
