As a result of several grants from the 7-Eleven Stores and the generosity of members of the community, LVA Rappahannock has acquired two computers, a range of instructional software, and both audio and' video equipment in order to make learning more attractive and less stressful. With new additions to its' software library, the organization will be in a position to offer interest" ing, interactive, and user-friendly instructional software for all levels, from basic to advanced GED stu-' dents. In the process, learners will become familiar with the use of computers.

Appoints
Teacher
The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry S. Miller as an Education/Information Technician. The position is parttime and he will be working primarily out of the Orange/Madison offices of the District.
Mr. Miller recently retired from the Arlington County Public School System after teaching Marketing Education for 26 years. He and his wife reside in Rixeyville.
The Culpeper SWCD is comprised of five counties, Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock. Mr. Miller’s primary objectives are to promote, inform and foster a better understanding of our soil and water resources in our five county district. He will be available to the schools, community groups, businesses and farmers as a resource person.

The Rappahannock Department of Social Services will distribute USDA commodities from 1:30-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from the basement of the Social Services off" fice on Gay Street.
All persons receiving Food Stamps will receive an application in the mail, this must be brought with you in order to receive your commodities. Anyone not on Food Stamps may pick up an applications at the department.
Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap. For information about the distribution call 676-3313.
