1 large tank used to fill the bus tanks. He said the water had been removed and the problem was solved. He added they don’t know how the water got in the tanks, but the large tank was given a pressure test recently and found to be tight, so it is not likely the water got in from the ground.
There will be an intermural basketball program for six and seventh grade students after school, Dr. Gangel reported. He said parents favored such a program in a survey, and basketball was selected because community groups provide soccer and baseball teams for county youth.
He also reported that for the first time in years premiums for health insurance for employees did not increase. The premium for a single subscriber remains $202 per month. The School Board pays nearly $178 of that.
The board approved plans for room assignments at the elementary school once the addition is finished. The addition will hold the kinder* garten, first and second grades and two of the three sections of third grade. Two of the rooms that are currently divided will be empty so the dividers can be removed. A third divided classroom will be used for speech therapy. Several of the rooms now being used for the primary grades will be used for special education. Music and art classes will get separate classrooms. Assistant principal Raye Tupper will have an office in the new addition and will have special responsibility for the younger grades.
