RCHS’s cross-country team won their first meet of the season last week, defeating Culpeper 29-28.
Mark Jenkins finished first overall with a time of 17:59. Eddie Sause was fourth, at 19:22.
The two runners were also the fastest for Rappahannock in an invitational meet held at Eastern Mennonite on September 17. Out of 22 schools competing, Jenkins finished 26th, Sause 46th, Mike Wolfe 103rd, Jason Brown 106th, Jeff Atkins 107th, Ray Atkins 118th, and R.J. White 119th.
Rappahannock placed 16th out of 22 in the invitational.
The cross-country team will be hosting a meet this Wednesday at Bleu Rock, across from the high school, beginning at 5 p.m.
