T). Joffeewood Correctional Center, located in Culpeper County is now accepting applications for the position of Corrections Officer.
Corrections Officers supervise inmates and are responsible for custody, control, discipline, and escape prevention duties. This invovles accompanying inmates to and from work, recreation, and cell areas; checking visitors and inmates for contraband; maintaining security at gates and entrances; reporting on inmate conduct and work performance; and supervising inmate work activities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Entry level security personnel must have a High School Diploma or GED and possess the ability to exercise good judgment during potentially volatile situations; the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and the ability to maintain order and discipline among the inmates.
