Mr. Gooch responded, “I dont have much luck with my motions with this council.”

Ed Barton asked, “Is it the concern of the Town Council that people on the ARB are not legally appointed at this point?

Mr. Zumwalt said that at this point everyone needed to be asked if they wished to continue.

Mr. Barton continued, “I don’t think it was the intent that the ARB be a political thing.”

Patrick O’Connell commented, “It was the assumption of people on the ARB that their term would automatically be reappointed.”

Charles Eldred said that he thought the original intent was that the terms be staggered to give continuity to the boards.

Mr. Lynch said, “It seems to me that we should let the public know what will be decided at the next meeting.

Mr. Barton said that from now on he felt that anyone appointed should get a letter from the mayor stating the dates of their appointment. He also said that he was told that his term on the ARB was for four years.

The appointments will be discussed further at the October meeting.
