last ARB meeting, all members indicated that they wanted to remain on the board. She also said ARB meetings would now be on the second Thursday of each month beginning in October.
A public hearing was held regarding modification of the budget to include a $3,000 grant from the State of Virginia for the Washington Fire Department. Ed Barton asked, “Is it not automatically part of the budget once you receive it?”
Mayor Willis responded, “Just to add this in we need to have this public hearing.”
Mr. Zumwalt noted that he thought they should count on getting the grant next year and put it in the next budget. Newbill Miller said “no” to that suggestion.
Mayor Willis said that the training class for the new water system will be taught by a professor from Lord Fairfax
