William Settle
Willian/s^ttle, 68,/of Waldorf, Md. died Friday^Jiepi. 16 at Physicians Memorial Hospital in LaPlata, Md. 1 He was bom in Eggbomsville, on Jan. 18, 1926, to his father, the late Robert John Settle and his mother, Eliza F. Settle of Amissville.
He was the husband of Edna Viola Brown Settle who survives.
Mr. Settle was a retired carpenter and served in the U.S. Army.
In additional to his wife and mother other survivors include three sons, William G. Settle of Rixeyville, Stephen G. Settle of Lignum and Mark A. Settle of Nanjemoy, Md; two daughters, Joyce D. Santora of Nanjemoy, Md. and Diane F. Janes of White Plane, Md.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Ethel S. Compton of Culpeper, Donald Settle and Robert B. Settle of Amissville, Marjorie Jenkins of Castleton, Dorothy Whorton of Amissville and Richard Settle of Manassas; one great-grandchild, Alice E. Settle; grandchildren, John B. Settle, Jackie C. Bowles, Robert B. Settle, Stephen W. Settle, Jennifer J. Settle, Jessie G. Settle, Rebecca D. Santora, Olivia V. Santora, Mark J. Settle, William A. Settle, Shannon J. James.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper.
Interment was in the Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Jeffersonton with full military honors and pallbearers.
