A minor slip-up turned into a major blunder for Virginia’s Democratic majority this week when a memorandum from a political consultant accidentally was delivered to the wrong legislator.
Accusations Hew everywhere on the House and Senate floors last Tuesday as Republicans lashed out at so-called "Democratic planners," who Republicans say paid a political consulting arid polling firm $24,500 in December 1994 to help guide the majority party to devour Gov George Allen’s political agenda.
"The Democratic Caucus turned to this dirty-tricks firm to help them develop a plan to systematically misrepresent, distort and destroy the governor’s tax, budget and other reform proposals," said Del. John Watkins, R-Chesterfield, who received the memorandum intended for Del. Watkins M. Abbitt Jr., DAppomattox.
