Sprocket Man was donated to the Mounted Patrol division of the Kentucky Horse Park last year, at the ripe old age of 6. Having set stakes records at Beulah Park Race Course in Ohio his owners wanted to see him go to a good retirement home, where he could relax and live out his last (20 or so) years in comfort.
They chose a good spot, although he hasn’t slowed down much. This thoroughbred gelding seems to love every aspect of his life as a Mounted Police horse.
“He loves people, he loves the attention that he gets being in crowds at the park,” said White. “He’s real kind, but being a race horse, you never know how they’re going to act (in this environment]. lie’s one of the best horses on the force, if not the best. . . But 1 guess I’m a little bit biased,” Trooper While added.
