NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
TOWN OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on March 8, 1995 at 7:30 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereater as the matters can be heard, the Town Council of the Town of Washington will hold Public Hearings on the following matters:
1. The consideration of the adoption of the 1995 Bank Franchise Tax Ordinance (effective July 1, 1995). A copy of the draft Bank Franchise Tax Ordinance will be available for inspection by the public at the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, and the County Administrator's Office, both located on Gay Street in Washington, Virginia, during normal business hours, and at the Town Hall Office in Washington, Virginia, between 9:00 A M. and 1:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
2. The consideration of an "Ordinance Authorizing and Providing for the Issuance, Sale, and Award of a S75,000.00 General Obligation Bond, Scries 1995, of the Town of Washington, Virginia," by which the Town of Washington, Virginia would be authorized to issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $75,000.00, which Bonds would be purchased by the United States of America. The proceeds from the sale of said Bonds would be used to finance the Water Works Improvement Project for the Town of Washington, Virginia. A copy of the Draft Bond Ordinance will be available for inspection by the public at the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, and the County Administrator's Office, both located on Gay Street in Washington, Virginia, during normal business hours, and at the Town Hall Office in Washington, Virginia, between 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
3. Consideration of a Water System Grant Agreement with the Farmers Home Administration, or its successor, in which the Town of Washington would receive a grant of $75,000.00, to be used in the completion of its Water Works Improvement Project, in conjunction with $75,000.00 raised by the sale of Municipal Bonds. A copy of the Water System Grant Agreement will be available for inspection by the public at the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, and the County Administrator's Office, both located on Gay Street in Washington, Virginia, during normal business hours, and at the Town Hall Office in Washington, Virginia, between 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.
Anyone wishing to make their views known on the three items listed above are invited to attend the Public Hearing and address the Town Council.
