Adopt-A-Highway program. Special thanks to all who have participated in this program.
At the Ruritans’ monthly meeting last week, the program was presented by Laurie Marshall, former Artists in Residence at Rappahannock County Elementary School. Her program was funded by the Virginia Commission of the Arts, which receives funds from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), with matching funds from the Rappahannock County School Board.
Her program was to show that the NEA funds are not wasted on obscene art that seems to get all the publicity, but much is spent on educational programs. Ms. Marshall discussed the “Web of Live” program. 1 spoke with her Monday morning and she said,
