At last Wednesday's meeting the Town Council voted to enter into an agreement with the county to use the services of Water and Sewer Authority employees to test town water.
Following a public hearing, the council also voted to approve a special use permit for Joyce Kramer to convert her house between Main and Gay Streets near the Clopton House to retail use. Mrs. Kramer said she is trying to rent the house and wants to advertise it as zoned for retail as well as residential use. She does not yet have a tenant with any specific retail use for the property, and no renovations of the building requiring a building permit are planned.
The area for retail use would be the lower floor, a total of 640 square feet. The zoning ordinance requires three off-street parking spaces for such a use. The council agreed to
