Water
Did you know that the No. 1 threat to water quality in this country is no longer industrial pollution? It’s nonpoint source pollution — or runoff. Runoff carries the debris of our daily lives into streams, rivers and oceans, and through groundwater.
So don’t dump antifreeze or used motor oil on the ground or in the storm sewer. Don’t pour toxic house- ' hold cleaning products down your drain. Limit your use of pesticides and fertilizers this Spring. All these pollutants will eventually runoff into the nearest watershed.
Try not to waste the clean water that we have. Shutting off the sink while you brush your teeth can save four gallons each time. Wait until the dishwater or clothes washer are full before you run them. Take brief
