Mayor Willis reported on his meeting with the WSA on an agreement to share the services of the Sperryville sewer plant operator for testing town water. He said some members had reservations.
The WSA had agreed in a telephone conference to charge the town $30 per day for the service for 90 days, and then review the situation to see if the charge was fair to the town and the WSA, Chairman Eugene Leggett reported.
Mayor Willis noted that the council has $7,800 in its budget for a town employee to work on the water system. The agreement with the county will cost about $3,000 more and the town will still need an employee to read meters and for repairs to the system, he said.
Treasurer Tom Zumwalt urged council members to accept the agreement with the county and WSA. “This is not a responsibility to be taken lightly,” he said. He noted that
