the Sperryville plant operator is licensed and qualified for the testing. “In the long run it will be less expensive to the town,” he said. If instead the town tried to do it with its own employee it would be months before the water treatment plant could be running he said. “I strongly recommend we go with the county to test the water and get the plant going,” he said.
Member Peter Skowronski agreed, “I think that’s a deal,” he said.
The motion to accept the agreement was approved unanimously.
Steve Critzer reported that the town Planning Commission had met and reviewed the definition of aggrieved party and other definitions in the zoning and historic district ordinances. He urged a joint work session with the council and planning commission to go over suggested changes. The council agreed to such a joint meeting Friday, April 21.
Mr. Zumwalt submitted budget reports. As of mid April the town had received $93,900 of an anticipated $124,000 in revenue, and spent $74,000 of an anticipated $124,750. The budget for the waterworks shows $38,355 of $52,000 received and $38,500 spent of $52,050. The waterworks received a loan from the town to cover the difference.
