Attorney Frank Reynolds noted that two existing on-street parking spaces would be eliminated to provide access to the three off-street parking spaces. A large tree would have to be removed also.
Although most members of the council expressed reservations about approving the special use permit without knowing what sort of retail use might be made of the building, the motion to approve the permit passed unanimously.
The council agreed to review the situation in two years to see if it is necessary to require the off-street parking.
