“How, how, how. What 1 have touched I have touched and what 1 have not still remains,” stated Nyami as he tapped the serpent on the head.

After this the spider goes home and with the help of his wife comes up with a scheme to capture the hornet with the sting of fire.

He gets a gourd and fills it with water. Then he climbs a tree and sprinkles the water over the hive that the hornets live in. They think it is rain and all of them fly into the nest. After they do this the spider puts a cork in the entrance so they can not escpae and and then takes them to the God who repeats his “How, how, how...” line. The spider then sets off to capture the spirit nobody can see.

His wife explains that he needs a doll and some honey to catch him and so with there things, a basket of figs, a food the spirit likes, he goes to the spirit’s favorite field. He covers the doll in honey, puts the figs in her lap, attaches her head and arms to webs so he can move them and then hides.
