The Rappahannock County School Board approved the development of such a program this past spring. But, before wrestling can become a viable high school sport here, it must become a successful youth program. The plan is to begin a youth program (grades 4-8) this November. This would be followed by two years of junior varsity competition; by 1998 our goal is to have youth, JV and Varsity wrestling in Rappahannock. This means that the graduating Class of 2000, which will enter 8th-grade this year, should be able to compete in varsity wrestling their junior and senior years!
