The heavy equipment work was done by employees of the state Forestry Department with bulldozers and front end loaders. Mrs. Fletcher’s son William Albert Fletcher, from Sperryville, provided one of the dump trucks used to haul the residue to the landfill. Six U. Va. students from Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity were on hand to help clean up and salvage lumber from the deck that can be used in rebuilding.
