• About 10 months after the Aileen Ind. plant in Fling Hill closed permanently, former employees got together for a reunion and picnic Saturday at the county park.
Many of the people there had left the company years before the closing was announced. Others were caught up in the need to find replacement jobs last fall. They met to compare notes on what they had been doing and exchange addresses and phone numbers.
Former manager Wayne Walker said several former supervisors had gotten together in Front Royal and decided to get everyone together. In spite of Saturday’s heat he suggested they make it an annual event and plan on another reunion the second Saturday in July in 1996.
Mr. Walker retired from Aileen in 1992 after 27 years with the company. He runs a farm near Strasburg.
