Gene Leggett said in front of his property the river bed is four feet higher than it was and only about half as much water can get through under a bridge. “It should be possible to fix this. That road is going to go out again,” he said.
Stonewall-Hawthom District representative Robert Anderson said, “It makes sense to me that if you need gravel to build up the roads you get it from the creek bed.”
Mr. Moore said it would help VDOT if the river bed was lower “in more than one spot” but that is outside their jurisdiction.

Washington as part of the 50 hours of volunteer work required of atl students of the class, litis week she was in the office on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 to 11 a.m., ready to help anyone with their gardening questions. Her volunteer hours are flexible as she works as a nurse at hospitals in Manassas and Fauquier.
Often she can answer questions over the telephone and then follow-up by sending information through the mail. But mostly it is easiest to help people if they will come into the office and see her in person. Most people who have contacted her recently have been having trouble with plant diseases.
