This past winter the Rappahannock Agricultural Advisory Committee completed a survey of the county’s farmers.

The committee undertook this investigation of the status of Rappahannock’s agriculture for two reasons. The first was to inform the county’s landowners and other interested citizens. It was the committee’s hope that interested citizens would seek ways to revitalize our farm economy and to better protect our farmland.

The committee’s second goal was to aid the Planning Commission itself to better understand not only the current condition of our farm sector, but its future prospects. -
