Governor Allen’s welfare reform plan will save taxpayers $130 million over the next five years. Liberal Democrats who control the General Assembly have threatened to repeal Gov. Allen’s welfare reforms and increase welfare spending by $180 million if they win control of the General Assembly on Nov. 7.
A vote for Jay Katzen is a vote for real welfare reform. A vote for his opponent, Sue Scheer, is a vote for returning to increased welfare spending without any strings attached.
There are, of course, many more reasons why working people support Jay Katzen. But what it really comes down to is that Jay Katzen and the Republicans represent honest change.
Democrats, on the other hand, have controlled the state legislature since Reconstruction. They are cheerleaders for the status quo because they are the party responsible for outon-crime judges, lenient criminal laws, and excessive taxation on families.

On Nov. 7 the citizens of Rappahannock County will elect a delegate to the General Assembly. The endorsement of Sue Scheer in the Oct. 18 edition of the Rappahannock News reflects the broad-based support among both Republicans and Democrats which she has achieved.
Although your endorsement mentioned some reasons for your support of her candidacy, I think it is important to outline some of the reasons why we should elect Sue Scheer to this post. Simply put, Sue Scheer will better represent the citizens of the 31 st House of Delegates District than her opponent.
Sue Scheer knows the needs of this district better. Her opponent moved into the district two years ago to pm for office. Sue Scheer has lived here for 30 years. Her opponent has not taken the time to understand the needs of this district, but has voted against those needs on occasion after occasion, not just on giving taxpayer money to Disney, but on local laws
