The second factor in deciding who should be Sheriff is found in the campaign that each man has waged. On one hand, John Henry Woodward asks we return him to office on the basis of proven fiscal restraint and twelve years of faithful service. On the other, Gary Settle provides a slate of objectives and goals for they department and himself that is specific and quantifiable as well as providing us a basis for ongoing evaluation of the office of Sheriff.
I believe Gary Settle is a man of vision and energy dedicated to keeping Rappahannock a place where we are safe and proud to live. His extensive training and supervisory experience with the State Police gives us a unique opportunity to elect a highly trained professional law enforcement officer to direct our Sheriff’s Department at a time when the need to do so has never been more clear. For these reasons, I will vote for Gary Settle next Tuesday, believing our county will benefit and our citizens be well served with Gary Settle as Sheriff of Rappahannock County.
