After three weeks of rained-out games, the coaches of Rappahannock’s three U-8 soccer teams were determined to play one way or another on Saturday. Unfortunately, Saturday dawned damp, which apparently deterred many of the parents of Sharon Pierce’s U-8 team. At game time, she had only two bonafide players. Her opponents, a Rappahannock team coached by Jim Lofton, had turned out in force, however. What to do?
