retract his statement.
Also, if he has only lived here since 1973 and likes to live like a hermit, as he claims, he really has no perception of what problems this county has or what is needed here.
Drugs, for example. People like Mr. Pagano are very naive to think there isn’t some degree of a drug problem here among our young people. I am greatful that Mr. Settle is ready to attack these issues, for I have a youngster in the county school system who I don't want exposed to drugs. I believe there are plenty of other parents who feel the way I do.
I personally have nothing against Mr. Woodward or any of his staff, but it is indeed time for a change, and I strongly feel that Gary. Settle is the change this county needs. I believe he is everything Mr. Pagano said the Sheriffs Office should be made of (tone, style and vision) and of course his police experience is a great asset.
So 1 hope this county will wholeheartly support Gary Settle for Sheriff.

To the Editor
I am writing in response to your editorial of Oct. 18, and two accompanying letters to this paper (one by Ms. VanNess and one by Ms. Marshall).
While I attended the Oct. 9th Farmers’ Association forum in the capacity as candidate with the honor of sitting next to Del. Jay Katzen, ! did not see these theatrics performed by Mr. Katzen that Ms. VanNess alludes to. There must have been another Farmers’ Association forum which I was not invited to.
At the meeting on Oct. 9th, 1 believe 1 saw Ms. VanNess and her husband sitting with Mr. Scheer and his daughter, and I conspicuously wore a Katzen label sticker which should signal any onlookers that 1 support Mr. Katzen and Ms. VanNess
