Working in their different fields of study, the students have had a variety of field trips and assemblies incorporating the study of the ecology and history of the area. They have visited with Darwin Lambert and learned about what the area in the Shenandoah National Park was like before there was a park. They have visited Lake Arrowhead outside Luray. They have been on fossil hunts just north of Winchester, and they have studied life along a stream at Helen and Emerson Williams’ farm in Castleton. Some have been in search of
