Rappahannock Ncw» Intern > At age 15 Lisa Foster is like other people her age. For the most part lanyway! t Sure she likes to watch television jand listen to alternative music. However, how many other high ■school sophomores do you know who •are nationally published cartoonists?
So far her work has apeared in •The Examiner and several other nationwide publications. She has also been training with a company called . Azure for the past two years. ,* “I love to draw and I’d like to see more of my work [get published] so more people can enjoy it as much as I enjoy drawing it,” she commented.
She explained that her drawings are a mixture of Manga, a Japanese -style artwork, and American.
This look has been achieved [through extensive art classes. She says however that “I adapt to other people’s style of drawing and really taught myself to draw.”
. Lisa, like anyone else pursuing a bream, was inspired to do so, mainly by her father and Marvel Comic Books. > Her dad, who also enjoys drawing, gave her the courage to continue drawing and refine the work which she had already done. She says he Jalso told her, “As I grow my drawings ydll grow too.”
Her father alone was not the cause of her success though. What was the real reason for her attempt at getting her work published?
