Delta has established a l charitable miles program called ' SkyWish. Travelers can donate their sDelta frequent flyer miles to United ;!Way, which converts the miles into •free tickets and donates them to peo; pie in need. ; Delta began the program by - donating 100,000 miles to UWA and ! continues to give to the cause. If indi; viduals wish to donate miles to 'SkyWish, they may indicate the ; amount of mileage (in increments of • 5,000 miles) on their monthly mileage ; summary, in the space provided. To • help boost jhe value of the donation, ■ Delta will add one mile for every five ’ miles contributed to the SkyWish program.
‘ Anyone who may need transportation for treatment of a life-threatening illness may submit an application at least five business days before the ticket is needed. Doctor verification is required and then the SkyWish Committee will meet to review the • request. Applications are available in .the Piedmont United Way office at 141 E. Davis Street, Culpeper, Va. 22701 or by calling 835-7569. Information is also available regarding similar programs for housing dur_ ing treatment.
