The Windmore Foundation for the Arts is presenting Claire Lynch and the Front Porch String Band at the Windmore Cultural Centre Amphitheatre, on Saturday, August 24, 1996. Special guest Cross Creek will open at 6 p.m. with Claire Lynch and the Front Porch String Band performing at 6:45 p.m.
The Boston Glqbe says “Claire Lynch is a real singer’s singer, one of the most respected vocalists in Nashville.”
Mrs. Lynch sings all of her repertoire in a bright, clear alto reminiscent of Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. Her writing ranges from the working mother’s lament of “Moonlighter” to the old-time gospel cadences of “Children of Abraham.” Mrs. Lynch has written tunes for Kathy Mattea and Patty Loveless as well as singing harmonies with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt.
