Mr. Heddleston has been teaching the writing class. On Friday he was helping a student tum her free verse poem into one with iambic meter.
He said his goals for the two weeks were to have the students do “stretch activities,” writing in forms that were not their usual choices, free writing on their own project, and review what they and the others have written. “Every day it is a little better,” he said. He said some students take the class more than once and some return as interns after they are no longer young enough to be regular students in the class.
