The library’s Summer Reading Program came to a close Saturday with a performance by Puppets of Pizzazz and prizes for all the children who participated.
Jim Tucker and Mimi Butler brought their puppet show to the children as they have in the past. The children and their parents responded enthusiastically to the dragon who wanted to get into the show even if he didn’t belong and the sea creatures in the story of a trip to the beach.
Among the youngest children in the “Read to Me” group, Caroline Massie won the prize for having the most books read to her (223), second prize went to Kayla Coppens (220), ajnd third prize was a tie between Austin and Tyler Burdick (172).
In the “I Can Read” group, Chris Anderson was first with 110 books, Amanda Smoot was second with 40 and J.R. Hawkins was third with 33.
In the advanced reading group Chrie Yingling was first with 55 bboks, Alyssa Berry was second with 35 and Julie Taylor and Eliza Van Beuren tied for third with 23.
