After much discussion, a lot of head shaking, and minor disagreements the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors voted to cut the county school budget by $175,000.

The school budget stands approved at $6,722,976 of which the county’s slice is $4,374,954.

To Rappahannock tax payers, this will mean an increase in real estate taxes from 75 cents per $100 of assessed value of property to 85 cents per $ 100 of assessed value. There were those present at the BOS meeting that took exception to the school budget.
