It hardly seems possible that Charles and I met in Tallahassee, Florida almost 16 years ago. He had recently retired from his surgical practice because of medical reasons. We met through mutual friends and hit it off right away.
One of the first questions he asked me was “What do you think about B&Bs?” I replied that I loved to go to them, little realizing that we would eventually be running one in Virginia!
A couple of weeks ago, Charles and I went to Richmond, to his 40th reunion from the Medical College of Virginia. This was the third such reunion I had gone to with him. In 1982 we talked with his classmates about our proposed sailing adventure. We had planned to sail around the world, but had to turn back after a major engine failure in Panama.
In 1987 we talked about our plans to open a B&B somewhere. The classmates who live in the Tidewater area.
