cancer. One has passed away, although not from cancer. The other is undergoing chemotherapy.

“It’s (cancer) something we need to do something about. We need to raise funds for research and although it may not help us it will help the next generation. The Relay for Life is part of it. Down the road it will help,” she said. She hopes someday they’ll find a cure.

Libby tells people in the support group that what helps is letting the bad feelings out and focusing on the good.

“If you want to be mad, be mad. If you need to cry, then cry. Even Jesus got angry and cried,” she said. “It’s important to let feelings like that out so the good feelings can come in. The love — that’s what healed me, the love.”

“You have to learn to know and love yourself and how to make yourself happy. You must put yourself first. Others will be happy if you’re happy with yourself. It’s the stress and bad thoughts which are bad for you. It’s good to laugh and have fun. That’s the cure for stress. It’s healing.”

“I have cancer. It will never have me,” Libby said. “I’m a survivor. My job now is to give back. I’ve come full circle.”
