Kelly Settle — Provided service to the Lions Club by assisting in the arrangements for an selections of contestants, and the preparations of certificates for the winners of our 1997 James A. Bland Musical Competition.
Tom Tepper — Provided a contribution to the club by providing the calligraphy for all of the new member certificates for the year. And in addition, he provided the calliopsis service on the Resolution which was presented to the family of Lion Paul Nichols.
Hal McDermott — Present at every Lion project this year, served as chairman for Camp Fantastic, as a chairman of the Awards Committee, he willingly responded to a number of request by the president to undertake special assignments, and on several occasions served as acting secretary on a moment’s notice. He currently serves as 3rd vice president.
Jeff Light — Served as a very fine Tail Twister for the current year and was consistently interesting with quick wit, good humor, and harmonic skills on the mouth organ.
Edna Goolsby — Provided a valuable service to the club through her untiring participation in the preparations for and making of apple butter.
Aileen Johnson — Cited for her benevolent and steadfast assistance in the apple butter project over the years, and her involvement in the Fourth of July project. Camp Fantastic, Nichols Memorial Service, sight and hearing Screening Van, .and others.
Roberta Anderson — In addition to her consistent involvement in the apple butter project, she has each year taken an active part in the sight and hearing screening van, including assisting with the preparation, and implementation at the high school, the elementary school, and the Wakefield Day School.
Wendy Weinberg — Recognized for community service and other acts of kind consideration in granting the club the use of The Theatre in Washington gratis for the annual James A. Bland Musical Competition.
