Last Friday, the Panthers played Manassas Park. An important district game. Coach Hackney decided to go with pitcher Andy Grimsley.
Manassas Park didn’t waste any time getting to Grimsley. After the leadoff batter was retired, they had four hits and a walk to lead the Panthers 5-0. “I had confidence in our offense and I knew that Andy would settle down. Andy is a lowball pitcher and he had to make the adjustment to the umpire who liked to call thj^pitches higher in the
strike zone,” exposed Coach Hackney. And Andy did justthat. In the next four innings he struck out 4 and allowed 4 hits. Two Panther errors caused the coach to pull Grimsley in the 6th inning.
Jon Digges relieved Grimsley.
