TSA State
Competition
A Success
By CHRIS ANTONY
TSA Reporter
Two weekends ago (18-20 of April, 1997), 16 Technology Student Association members and the chapter advisor, Mr. Ron Vickers, traveled down to the city of Hampton in Southern Virginia and competed in the TSA State conference.
This conference brought TSA members from all over the state together to compete in different technological competitions. These competitions were putting the top winners from each regional conference up against each other.
Included among these winners were several from our own chapter; Jonathan Moore, John Arnold, Jonathan Heddleston, Tim Deal, Colin Nichols, Tommy Baldwin, Justin Purgason, Adam Updike, Griffin Ward, Ian Blubaugh, Kenny Robinson, Steven Clark, Zack Corbin, and myself.
This conference took most of the weekend and earned us six trophies. One first place, one second place, and four third place trophies were awarded to members of our chapter. While some walked away with no trophy in their hand, all felt that next year we will be better prepared for the unexpected (malfunctions or errors in design) and also know what our contenders methods are, so as to improve upon our designs.
